About MHLAC Training
The Mental Health Legal Advisors Committee conducts several conferences each year on topics of mental health for attorneys, advocates, and other professionals of all levels of experience through our Training Department. Our conferences focus on representing persons with mental health challenges in legal settings while addressing topics such as medication, access to health care and treatment, stigma and community resources. Event presenters and participants are people with lived experience, experts in the mental health field from hospitals, academic institutions, state agencies, legal services and peer support services, as well as community-at-large.
Typically, MHLAC conferences are approved for continuing legal education credits for the Mental Health Law Division and the Children and Family Law Unit of the Committee for Public Counsel Services (CPCS). Credits may also be available for social workers and licensed mental health clinicians. Credit information will be posted with the event details. Orders of written materials (hard-copy) for most seminars are available through MHLAC for $25 on the Order Training Materials page. If you registered for the event and want access to an electronic version of the materials, contact Ellie Sarcia at email@example.com.
Once a conference event is announced, the program agenda, registration, and credit information is available on the Upcoming Training page.
Please contact Miriam Ruttenberg with any questions you may have regarding MHLAC's training program. She can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org or 617-338-2345 x127.
