Chief Justice Hennessey
The Chief Justice Edward F. Hennessey Summer Internship Fund
The Hennessey Summer Internship Fund offers a small stipend to students who intern with MHLAC during the summer. As interns, students have the opportunity to work on important issues in mental health law and other areas that affect our clients with mental health issues. For more information on applying for a summer internship, go to the Internships page.
The Mental Health Legal Advisors Committee first established the Hennessey Summer Fellowship Fund at its 35th anniversary celebration at the Supreme Judicial Court in 2008. The Hennessey Fellowship was created to honor the former Chief Justice and perpetuate the memory of his many contributions to protect the due process rights of all citizens, including those involved with the mental health system. Prior to converting to the Internship Fund in December 2012, summer fellowships were awarded to Abigail Wolf (2010), Michele Scavongelli (2011), and Lynn Squillace (2012).
